Off To A Great Start!

Good Evening Readers,

I was going to throw myself back into the challenge of sending two queries a month like last year but I changed my mind.  I'm just going to focus on sending them period.  We'll see how it goes.

I have sent two queries this month.  One to a literary agent who is interested in new authors.  Plus for me.  And the other is interested in stories with a voice of their own, with the characters driving the story.  I like these two queries.

I almost sent another two today but when I read up on them both, I found that they weren't a good fit for me.  I may browse around some more tonight to see if any other agents catch my eye.  Perhaps I did not focus enough on agents looking for new talent.  I'll head in that direction more so this year.

Anyway, it's getting late and there is still much to do.  Take care everyone.  Thanks for sticking around for this slow moving but full of wonderful sights and lessons journey I'm taking.  And as always,

Blessed New Year All!

Good Evening Readers and Bless New Year to you all.  I hope you all who celebrate holidays in December had wonderful celebrations and brought in the new year with a bang!

I didn't reach my goal last year of sending out 24 literary agent queries but that's ok.  2018 is another year.  I have received replies from a few agents.  No takers though.  Still glad they replied at all.  I won't be staying on long this evening.  I just wanted to say a quick hello and a quick update.  I hope to have some more news soon.

Take care.  Thank you for sticking around.  And as always

So Very Behind

Good Evening Readers,

When life decides to get in the way, it truly takes no prisoners!  I am now officially 4 agent queries behind and still have to send my 2 for this month.  But no worries,  I'm reviewing agents now.  I still would like at least one (and thanks again to every agent who responded no matter what the reply) to explain if i'm doing this right.  That would be nice to know.

My thoughts and prayers go out for those affected by or in the path of or with family/friends in the path of Hurricane Irma.  Take this seriously people.  Be safe.  Be prepared.  Tangible items can be replaced but a life lost cannot.

Keeping this one short and sweet since I have more agent homework to get to.  Take care all.  Stay safe and as always,

Literary Update

Greetings and Salutations Readers,

I have been missing in action and I apologize for that.  June swallowed me whole (busy month) and I missed sending out my queries.  I haven't sent any out this month yet either so I'm officially behind.  That's alright.  Life happens.

I did find a great article on Poets & Writers (www.pw.org) called "We Mean Business:  Agents Who Want to Read Your Work" (https://www.pw.org/content/we_mean_business_agents_who_want_to_read_your_work).  It was a GREAT read.  It's making me rethink (again hahaha) my queries.  Especially the portion about mentioning a book that is similar to the manuscript you are trying to pitch.  So I have been spending my evenings reviewing books from agents I'm interested in and what did I find so far?  Exactly what I thought I would find - nada!

There is no book that I know of that is like my novel.

This is a great thing and also an added difficulty.  Great because I've come up with a truly original piece.  Difficulty because I have no clue how to pitch a completely original piece.  I am only one author and there are millions of books in existence so maybe there IS a book like mine out in the world already.  Who knows.  Won't stop me from moving forward.

And I must send my thanks to Lucy Carson of the Friedrich Agency (http://www.friedrichagency.com/) who replied to my query.  It's another "no" BUT I truly appreciate a reply of any kind from an agent so thank you Ms. Carson.

Alright all, I've got 4 queries to get through by Monday (wish me luck) so I better get a move on.  Thank you all for taking this journey with me and, as always,

May Queries Sent

Good Evening Readers!

My May queries are on their way.  No word from any of my other queries yet. No big deal.  That won't stop me from writing.

Have you had a chance to read the new version of Love Revisited?  I'd love to get your thoughts on it.  Feedback is always welcome.

For those of you who've lost a military member of your world, be it family or friend, I hope your hearts found some comfort on this past Memorial Day as we remember the men and women who gave their lives to protect others.  They will never be forgotten.

Forgive me if I get these wrong but I mean well.  In no particular order as they are ALL important.

"Integrity First.  Service Before Self.  Excellence in All We Do." - US Air Force
"Semper Paratus. (Always Ready)" - US Coast Guard
"Semper Fidelis.  (Always Faithful)" - US Marines
"Honor, Courage, Commitment" - US Navy
"This We'll Defend.  Army Strong." - US Army

Love Revisited - Reborn!

Good Evening Everyone,

Thank you for reading my blog.  I've finally finished the revamp of the short story Love Revisited.  For those reading it for the first time, I hope you truly enjoy it.  For those reading it again, I think you'll find some more depth to the story.  More fullness to some of the characters.

I'm still working on my cop drama and a little on my syfy piece.  The hunt for a literary agent is still under works.  Still no takers but that's fine by me.  I only need one "yes".

It's late on my side of the world and I'm going to call it a night.  Enjoy your evening, morning, day, whatever time zone you're in.  And, as always,

April Queries Sent

Good Evening All,

I hope all has been well with each and every one of you.  That you've taken the opportunity to live this life and not just let it live YOU.

I received another reply this month from a January query.  Not in my favor but a reply non the less and that, to me, it almost just as exciting.  At least I know they read my query and had the time (and desire) to reply to little old me.  So shout out to The Writers House agent Jodie Reamer and her assistant Alec Shane.  (www.writershouse.com)  Thank you both for the consideration.

I've sent my two queries for April.  Almost slipped my mind oddly enough.  The month ran away from me.  It's been a busy one.

I'm almost done with the retweak of Love Revisited.  I hope to have it up next month.

Well, just wanted to give you all a quick update.  Thank you to everyone who has stuck by me on this journey of mine and to all of my new followers.  It's slow going but it's going.  Stay true to you and, as always,
